Squeezebox Touch

I've been using a Squeezebox "classic" (as they are now called) for at least three years, latterly connected to a Musical Fidelity X-DAC and my Pathos Logos Amp. Squeezebox talks to my PC that runs squeezeserver, a humongous lump of perl code backed by a MYSQL DB. I've got a collection of FLACs garnered from various sources tagged up and indexes by the server. Its not a bad setup but I really want a foobar plugin that I can use to drive the Squeezebox.

I'm going to buy a squeezebox touch shortly. It supports higher resolution bit-rates (up to 24/96). Should you like Mozart for example, the late Sir Charles Mackerras's Mozart recordings are availble from Linn at Studio Master quality.

Theclassicalshop.com

wrote this email to them. The site is very poorly done. I've got 15 years experience of working on websites so I think I know what I am talking about.

Unreal! I am attempting to download Mackerras's Makropoulos. Its barfed completely, now zippzing up file 40/23. Ah it finally kicked into life though I can't get the 24/96 Flac I thought I paid for.

I've no idea who you let lose on your UI design but its a mess. Just look at this support form: layout is terrible, you can get all the info you need from the browser and session. The download page is incomprehensible and functionally broken.

Unless you do some serious QA on the site I am not going to use it again unless I absolutely have to. I'm really annoyed because I want to buy loads of Mackerras recordings at 24/96 but you won't let me.

I suggest you scap this site and do a deal with passionato who have got downloading "right". It works, its neat, its clean and downloading is easy.

So which format am I getting ?
What an earth is this mess ?
